Accessible Desks
At Solsbury, our desktops are made from 3/4" particle board and feature a high gloss, high pressure laminate markerboard. The markerboard laminate surface allows the teacher or student to write on the desktop using a dry erase marker without permanently marring it. An edgeband provides a durable and aesthetically pleasing trim in your choice of black matte or high gloss white. An optional cup holder is also available.
The welded steel frame construction is built to last and powder coated in your choice of several colors. At Solsbury, our products are third party tested and meet or exceed all regulatory standards. Our wheelchair desks are ADA compliant and proudly made in the U.S.A.

All of our desks have a whiteboard laminate desktop. This desktop allows the student or teacher to use a dry erase marker on the surface without permanently marring it. The desktop cleans easily with a damp cloth.
Custom sizing is also available.

Not only are the large sized hinged desks a welcomed addition to any special needs classroom, but they are also a must have for Veterans Hospitals and Rehabilitation Facilities.
Our patent pending bilateral hinged desk with front cutout was designed for those individuals with weakness or paralysis of both upper extremities. This unique desk allows for a single caregiver to open the arm flaps and lift the individuals arms up through the hinged openings. The hinged arm flaps open to approximately 95 degrees and with a gentle push they close quietly. Once closed, the caregiver is able to position the individuals upper extremities on the desktop. Each hinged flap is equipped with a slow close damper to prevent injuries.

Optional cup holder is 2 3/4" diameter x 2 1/4" deep. It can hold a regular sized 16.9 oz water bottle. The cup holder sits flush with the desktop and can placed on either the far left hand or far right hand side of the desktop.

Wooden footrests which attach to classroom chairs have been used in schools for decades. School based physical therapists know that a footrest provides a stable surface for a students feet to rest upon. When a child's both feet are stabilized on a solid surface, postural control, sitting balance and the ability to focus are greatly improved. Here at Solsbury, our team didn't want to alter the look of the footrests used in schools for so many years. We simply wanted to make it better. Teachers frequently complain that their students either kick the footrest off of the chair or wrap their feet around the sides of the footrest and bang the cutouts against the legs of the chair. Not only does this result in the child's inability to focus but ultimately distracts the entire classroom. Our patent pending locking footrest is constructed from 3/4" maple plywood. It has three sides and a top surface. The open back allows the therapist or classroom staff to adjust or tighten the locking mechanism if needed. The anti-slip tape spans the entire top surface to reduce falls. The patent pending locking mechanism prevents shifting of the footrest. Our footrest is able to accommodate classroom chairs with an inside leg width of 11 1/2" to an outside leg width of 20". Our footrests come in 4" and 6" heights.
